"The 2013 Barolo Mariondino is a large-scale Barolo with broad shoulders and a deep footprint. The wine opens carefully to dark fruit, spice, leather and moist chewing tobacco. The aromas are savory, penetrating and thick. This Barolo offers substantial textural richness and a firm tannic punch that makes it way too young to approach now. The wine is macerated on the skins and stems. Only prolonged cellar aging will break down the firm inner core it displays now." - ML
